About Embedded Systems Lab

The Embedded Systems Laboratory, ESL for short, is located at room 509, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chung Cheng University, Chiayi, Taiwan. ESL was established in February 2001. The lab is currently being directed by Professor Pao-Ann Hsiung. We are committed to the research on the design of embedded and cyber-physical systems, including applications to smart traffic, smart grid, driver fatigue prediction, and landslide prediction. Currently, there are over 150 Master graduates and over 10 PhD graduates from this lab. We have achieved several research results disseminated in more than 300 publications.

Our lab has ample support in terms of equipments and space. We have solar panels for smart grid research, smart city model for smart traffic research, Arduino sensors for bio-signal research, and scaled-down land prototype for landslide prediction research. You are most welcome to join or visit this lab for either degree, short-term internships, or sabbatical research. We have monthly stipend for students and also visiting scholarships from the ministry for half or one year research. Please do contact us at pahsiung@ccu.edu.tw.
